2025 Weekly Fall Ladder League
(This Event is Currently Full)
Registration Details: Registration will close 3 days prior to the event start date. Both the Google form AND payment must be received to complete your registration.
Event Lead: Point of contact for this event is Eric Schickler ([email protected] or [email protected]).
Description: Each player enters as an individual and plays 3 games to 15 points each week, rotating partners in a round robin format among a 4-some of similarly ranked players. Scores are recorded and ranking list is established each week based on total points earned by each individual. The following week, a new 4-some will be established based on new rankings, and the 4-some round robin process will repeat and continue. See below for additional format info.
Location: Darden Towe Park - courts are reserved for this weekly event.
Event Dates/Times: 5:30pm on Mondays beginning September 15, 2025 for 6 weeks (will extend weeks if any dates are rained out).
Cost: $40 per player covers play for the entire 6 weeks. All proceeds go to the Darden Towe Court Expansion Project. Both payment on the CEVA website and this Google form must be received before your registration is complete.
Level of Play: All player levels are welcome. Starting positions in ladder will be leveled based on DUPR ratings, and levels will further organize and separate themselves out as the ladder league proceeds due to the format of the event.
DUPR Entered: No
Player Count: Minimum player count of 16 and max of 40. Sign up as an individual.
Waitlist: Will be available. Waitlisted players will be notified.
Subs and Absences: If you are absent, you must find a sub that is comparably rated and contact organizer Eric Schickler via email informing him of your sub's information.
Scoring: Games to 15, win by 1 (due to cumulative point format of the event, this win by 1 is required...see below for more info).
Layout: Individual players will mix partners each game and each week. 3 games are played each week. Single Round Robin.
Format: Individuals are initially listed in a single best guess ranking (based on DUPR) for the first week based on advanced/intermediate/beginner to shoot for some level of reasonably competitive play. Each week everyone attempts to maximize their individual score based on the number of points they score in the games they play.
The complete list of players is ranked from top to bottom and then broken into groups of 4 people each.
Each four-some plays a round robin with the other 3 players and records their scores after each game.
3 games are played each week.
Games are to 15 win by one point.
Examples of point accumulation: There is a maximum of 45 points that each player can earn each week (15 points from three games). If Player A wins all 3 games, they would have 45 points (15 points from each game) for the week or 100%. If Player B only scores 25 points total across their three games that week, they would have 25/45 or 55.6%.
Each week the percentage of points won is calculated and the players are reranked for the next week.
After two weeks the total number of accumulated points is divided by 90 (45 points per week); after 3 weeks by 135, etc.
Missed weeks and rankings: If someone misses a week their percentage stays for weekly rankings to maintain competitive levels. The final rankings take into account total number of games played before percentage. This allows for lower level competitive players to jump into contention at the end, and prevents someone from having three good weeks and stopping to rest on their scores. The more you play, the more opportunities you have to lose/gain points (climb up or down the ladder).
Next steps: Read all that info over again at least 3-5 times until it really makes sense!! That's how many times we had to read it to make it click!!
