OUTDOOR PLAY OPPORTUNITIES - Charlottesville (no reservations, first come, first serve)

Please use Playtime Scheduler for setting up and organizing play (click on the link here - this is a free site - if this is your first time on the site, you will be asked to register with an email address)- this is helpful in two ways - it allows others to know when the court capacity is full while it also is a means to show city and county officials the need for additional facilities.
  • Darden Towe Park: 6 dedicated courts PLUS Tennis Courts #1 and #2 - (must bring own net).
    • Open Play Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00 - 11:00 am, Sundays 3:00 - 6:00 pm​
  • Pen Park: 4 courts - Tennis Courts #3, #4, #5 and #6 co-lined for pickleball, adjustable height tennis net, lighted. 
  • Claudius Crozet Park: 3 courts - No Lights, multi-use nets/courts for tennis/pickleball/quickstart tennis
  • ​PVCC (400 Co Rd 338): Lower Tennis Courts, 8 lined pickleball courts (two per tennis court); lighted; must bring your own net.

INDOOR PLAY OPPORTUNITIES - Charlottesville

  • Agnor Hurt Elementary School Gym During School: Tuesday and Thursdays (6:30-9:30 pm) - 3 courts - pre-registration ONLY, no cash accepted at the door. $45 full season, $22 half season.   
  • Key Rec Center, Charlottesville: - Monday-Friday day (2:30-5:00 pm); Saturdays 1:30-3:15pm, Sundays 1-3pm
    • 3 courts - 24 player max capacity, first come, first served basis.
    • Silvers sneakers is still accepted! OR $2 admission fee.
    • No guests/spectators.
  • Carver Rec Center, Charlottesville: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 2 - 4 pm, Saturdays 9 am - 12 pm
    • 2 courts available indoors
    • $2.00/person per session
  • Betty Queen Center, Louisa: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday - 4 courts - $2 per session or punch card
    • Open Play - 12:30-4:00​​

Staunton, VA
  •  Gypsy Hill Park Gym (116th Regimental Road, Staunton, VA 24401) - 3 courts - $20 for 2 months of play on Sundays 1-4 pm, Wednesdays 5-8 pm. Register and pay online with Staunton Parks & Recreation

Harrisonburg, VA
  • Horizons Edge Sports Campus (325 Cornerstone Lane, Harrisonburg, VA 22802) - 3 courts downstairs, 2 courts upstairs 
    • Monday-Friday 9:30 am-11:30 am and 12:00-2:00 pm
    • $5.00 per session or $8.00 for both sessions​
Midlothian, VA (south Richmond)
  •  Bangers and Dinks - 8 dedicated pickleball courts
    • ​8 am - 10 pm, unlimited open play 7 days/week
    • $12.00 day pass, memberships available
